Education
I hold a Degree in Journalism from the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, a Qualified Teaching Status (QTS) from the UK, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the Universidad de Barcelona and International House.
I also earned a Higher National Diploma in Media Production from EMAV, Barcelona.
Over the years, I’ve complemented my academic background with continuous professional development in neuroeducation, positive psychology, and language pedagogy.
I regularly take part in courses, webinars and programs such as the Macmillan Teachers Events and follow the work of leading neuroeducators and researchers to stay current with the latest findings in learning science.
Professional Experience
My teaching journey began in Guatemala, where I learned how cultural diversity shapes the way students learn.
Later, I joined the University of Salford (UK), designing Spanish courses for university students and collaborating with Pendleton Sixth Form College and Cravenwood Primary Academy on language projects.
In Barcelona, I founded and directed Academia Parlem, leading a team of teachers and supporting more than 1,000 learners from around the world. That experience reinforced my belief that every student deserves to feel motivated, respected, and capable of success.
Now in Tanzania, I focus on teacher training through Really Teaching — an initiative that helps educators apply neuroscience and positive psychology in their daily practice, making teaching more human, creative, and effective.
